Purpose: A team of Vanderbilt professionals specializing in the care and treatment of individuals with Down syndrome provide broad, multi-specialty care to increase availability and efficiency for patients and families.

The clinic was begun in response to community needs, with leadership from the Down Syndrome Association of Middle Tennessee.

Description: The clinic works with families referred by their primary care provider and provides special care in the fields of genetics, cardiology, ophthalmology, otolaryngology, neurology, hematology/oncology, developmental pediatrics, orthopedics, psychology, and special education. The program assists patients in finding other services including physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech and language therapy, nutrition counseling, educational and behavioral counseling, and audiology. This program of Vanderbilt's Children Hospital works collaboratively with the Vanderbilt Kennedy Center, Vanderbilt Bill Wilkerson Center, Child Development and Research Center, and Vanderbilt Stallworth Rehabilitation Hospital.
